Amiel Silvestre joined the early morning training team at the Menlo Park AXIS in July 2007. A Bay Area native, his career in personal training had its beginnings when he was in college at San Jose State.
“In high school I played football and ran track, and when I got into college I continued to train in order to stay in shape. I’d work out with my friends and teach them what I knew. At the time I didn’t think of myself as a personal trainer, just that I was giving advice to friends,” he explains.
After graduating with a degree in graphic design, he decided to pursue both personal training and a freelance design business, eventually becoming a trainer full-time.
“I realized how much I enjoyed being able to impact people’s lives, whether by helping them to get more confidence, feel better or just reaching their goals,” he says.
Outside of AXIS, Amiel continues to enjoy graphic design and creative hobbies such as making longboards (a type of skateboard) by hand. For fitness, he snowboards, wakeboards, and plays semi-pro football for the Central Coast Barnstormers. He also acts as a football coach at Milpitas High School.
“Some of the kids I’ve trained were able to get on the varsity team as sophomores,” he says. “It makes me so proud to be a part of their achievement, and be a force in their lives who motivates and educates.”

 I like to help change people's lives by motivating and encouraging them to make health, fitness, and wellness a lifestyle. I think you can reach your goals and have fun at the same time.

Focus on being stress-free and smiling more! Walk 30 minutes a day, drink plenty of water, and get a good night's sleep every night. Try to fit in some type of strength training three times a week.

My Hometown is...Milpitas, California.
My Hobbies are...playing semi-pro football with the Central Coast Barnstormers, snowboarding, wakeboarding, longboarding, graphic design, product design, and playing the ukelele.
My Favorite food...Filipino food, Hawaiian food....all kinds!
My Favorite Vacation Spot...Hawaii!
My Favorite Movie...Superman, Scarface, Friday, Coming to America.
My Favorite Sports Teams...SF 49ers & other Bay Area professional teams, USC Trojans.
