ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Mark Reifkind, Sr. RKC has been a competitive athlete, coach, and student of physical culture for the last 34 years. A former national level gymnast, he has trained Olympic gymnasts, was the Head Coach for Team USA in powerlifting, and has written for Milo, Ironman, and Muscle Mag International. A masters level rated powerlifter, he now focuses his training on the kettlebell and the depth of its applications.

Mark is the owner operator of Girya Kettlebell Training, the first studio in the country to use the kettlebell as its primary method of conditioning. ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This Kettlebell Training workshop will be a detailed and intense exploration of the basic kettlebell movements, principles, remedial drills and corrections used at the RKC certification course.

The movements are: kettlebell swings, cleans, press, snatch and front squat. The swing will be divided into two handed swings, one arm swing and hand to hand transfer swing.

Training theory, methods and program design will also be addressed. Safety issues, contraindications and orthopedic concerns will also be discussed.

SCHEDULE

8:30 - 9:00 am: Check-in and Registration

9:00 - 9:30 am: Introduction to Kettlebell Training, Mark's back ground and experience with kettlebells, safety issues, contraindications and orthopedic concerns.

9:30 -11:30 am: Kettlebell swing progressions, remedial drills and corrections

11:30 -noon: Ballistic training concepts and principles

12 - 12:45 pm  - LUNCH (will be provided)

12:45 - 1:30 pm  - Turkish get up progressions, remedial drills and corrections

1:30 - 2:30 pm  - Snatch progressions, remedial drills and corrections

2:30 - 2:45 pm  - BREAK

2:45 - 3:45 pm  -  Kettlebell clean and press progressions, remedial drills and corrections

3:45 - 4:15 pm  -  Kettlebell front squat progressions, remedial drills and corrections

4:15 - 5:00 pm  - Program design and open discussion/questions.
