AXIS Featured in Book for Corporate Executives, 10 Simple Secrets of the World's Greatest
Business Communicators
May 10, 2005
AXIS Co-founder and CEO Scott Norton is mentioned in 10 Simple Secrets of the World's Greatest
Business Communicators, a new book by corporate presentation coach and Emmy
award-winning journalist Carmine Gallo. 10 Simple Secrets focuses on the techniques and presentation styles of successful business
men and women such as Steve Jobs,
Larry Ellison, Carly Fiorina, and Jack Welsh.
As a trainer of some of Silicon Valley's
most successful executives, Scott Norton is interviewed as part of the
discussion on the role image and appearance plays in being perceived as a successful communicator.
As the author explains, business communicators who are dedicated to fitness have
more energy and better posture than those who don't -- also, because aerobic exercise sends
oxygen-rich blood to the brain, speakers who hit the gym have higher critical
thinking ability.
An excerpt from Carmine Gallo's interview:
"If you do strength training...you'll have better posture. Better posture makes you look and feel more confident, you'll smile more and radiate
leadership. Executives train to perform at their highest level...They have to prepare their bodies to handle the demands of everyday life. They
get up at six and work until midnight sometimes. They fly around the world, five or six countries in a week...They can't afford not to workout. If they
don't train, they will not have the strength, endurance, and ability to think on their feet." - Scott Norton
AXIS also provided some of the book's nutritional recommendations and advice, which include eating several small meals a day
to keep your metabolism active, and minimizing caffeine, alcohol, and soft drinks.
